Western Boxelder Bug
Boisea rubrolineata
Identical to the eastern boxelder however the western boxelder has prominent red veins on its corium. This species can be found only in western North America while the eastern boxelder is found in southern Canada, the eastern United States, Mexico and south into Guatemala.
Finding information on this bug was very easy. All I had to do was type “red eyed bug of southern California” and this was the only species that popped up.
