Acmon Blue

Icaricia acmon

Acmon blue and lupine blue are virtually indistinguishable from each other. The main difference is the altitude in which they are most common, with acmon blues being more common in lower elevations and lupine blues more common in higher elevations. They are both found through out California, from the northern parts of Baja California up to the southern parts of Organ.

I noticed this one rubbing its wings together when it was standing on a flower. This is apparently a trait observed by many in the Lycaenidae family.
